A series of cross-border incidents has ratcheted up tensions between nuclear-armed India and Pakistan, over the disputed region of Kashmir. A released video is said to show shells fired from Pakistan coming down in Indian-controlled Kashmir near the city of Raj-ouri. Skirmishes have also been reported in other locations along the line of control that divides Kashmir. Both sides also say they've shot down aircraft. Pakistan says it downed two Indian warplanes. India has confirmed the loss of one aircraft and says it downed a Pakistani jet. None of these claims have been independently confirmed jet. Both sides have closed airports and airspace to commercial flights in the region.
