Pakistan says it has shot down two Indian air force jets after they crossed the disputed border in Kashmir. An army spokesman also said that two pilots had been captured.
The claim comes after escalating tensions following a terror attack that killed scores of Indian troops in Kashmir two weeks ago. India accuses Pakistan of harbouring the Jaish-e-Mohammad terror group it holds responsible for the attack. On Tuesday, India's air force launched strikes it said targetted the terror group's camps in Pakistani territory. Indian reports also say Pakistani combat jets entered Indian airspace over Kashmir. Following these developments, Pakistan announced that its has shut down its commerical airspace. Indian airlines have already cancelled flights to northern India.
