Since India revoked Kashmir's special status and imposed a security lockdown on the region, communications and peoples' movement have been severely affected and media from the region still faces severe restrictions. Local journalists are struggling to report freely under the unprecedented communications blackout. DW correspondent Nimisha Jaiswal travelled to Srinagar in Indian-administered Kashmir. As she found out, the media shutdown has left Kashmiris in a state of confusion, without access to reliable news.
