India's surprise move to revoke the special status of the disputed region of Kashmir under its control has generated a storm of responses. Condemnation and support has followed India's actions. India on Monday did away with a constitutional provision that allowed Indian controlled Kashmir to frame a majority of its own laws. Neighboring Pakistan has called the move illegal and there have been anti-India protests across the country. A joint sitting of both houses of Parliament was convened to discuss the situation arising out of the move. The issue figured in India's lower house of Parliament on Tuesday as well. But a day after India's Home Minister Amit Shah announced the move, his statement has generated a storm of responses.
