The 2014 RAM ProMaster is the new Cargo Van from Chrysler. The ProMaster is a great vehicle for the business owner: it carries a hefty load, is surprisingly easy to drive, gets good fuel economy, and should be able to stand up to daily work duties. European style cargo vans are making their way across the Atlantic as evident by the Ford Transit Connect, Nissan NV, and Mercedes Sprinter. The RAM ProMaster is based on a Fiat Ducato and carries a base price of $31,520.
If you bought one of these in Europe it would come with a 4-cylinder engine, but here in the States the ProMaster is equipped with Chrysler's Pentastar 3.6 liter V-6 that makes 280 horsepower and 250 lb-ft. of torque. That's enough to haul 44 lbs. of cargo or tow 5100 lbs. A diesel engine is on the horizon though.
The ProMaster is massive inside with 6'4" head room, 6" wide, and a huge load floor. The secret to getting this much cargo space is the fact that the RAM ProMaster 2500 is FWD meaning there no prop shaft or rear differential.
