The FIAT 500L is a larger and more practical vehicle then the regular compact 500 series. Eventually car buyers grow out of the compact and sub-compact segment. For a company to survive it will need to offer something more practical and the 500L is FIAT's answer. The 2014 FIAT 500L has a base price of $19,195.

The good news is the engine under the hood is the same turbocharged 1.4 liter engine that is found in the Abarth model. This 4-cylinder is good for 160 horsepower and 185 lb-ft. of torque. Fuel economy figures come in at 25 MPG in the city and 33 MPG on the highway.

When it comes to the styling of the 500L; you either love it or hate it. On the inside though you get a ton more cargo room. There is a 6.5" uConnect infotainment unit in the dash which is easy and intuitive to use. The best things about this car are the steering and the suspension.

The FIAT 500L is a quirky and unique vehicle. If you are looking for something out of the ordinary then you should certainly take one of these for a test drive.
