The Volkswagen Tiguan is a great all around crossover. This vehicle is built in German and was originally designed to cater to the European crowd who are used to small dimensions when it comes to automobiles. Base price for the 2014 VW Tiguan S model is $23,305 with the SEL model tested here coming in at $32,995.

Under the hood is the ubiquitous 2.0 liter turbo 4-cylinder found in countless VW autos. This engine is good for 200 horsepower and 207 ft-lb. of torque. Fuel economy ratings come in at 21 MPG in the city and 26 MPG on the highway. The transmission is a 6-speed Tiptronic transmission.

The Tiguan has both comfortable front and rear seats. The seating height is great and gives you a panoramic view of the road. The touchscreen infotainment system includes Navigation. It's true the Tiguan is getting along in years and is in need of a refresh. This is still a very compelling crossover SUV.
