2014 Hyundai Elantra GT Test Drive Video Review

The Hyundai Elantra GT is a very roomy, comfortable, and practical 5-door hatchback. The Crash Test Scores are great, the Warranty is terrific, and the Fuel Economy Ratings are well above 30+ MPG. The Elantra also leads its class in regards to quality according to JD Power. So there are lots of reasons to buy this great compact car.

The Elantra GT is based on a European model called the Hyundai i30 and it has a shorter wheelbase and a taller roofline than the Elantra Sedan. In fact the Elantra GT is one of 3 cars from Hyundai that wear this nameplate. The regular Elantra is a compact 4-door, the Elantra Coupe is a 2-door version, and the GT seen here is a 5-door hatchback. The base price is $18,750 when equipped with the manual transmission.

The big new is a new engine. Lasts years 140 horsepower 1.8 liter engine is out and a new direct injected 2.0 liter makes 173 horsepower. Fuel economy drops a bit though at 24 MPG in the city and 34 MPG on the highway. One of the reasons to buy the GT is because of practicality and usefulness. The hatch provides tons of cubic storage with the seats folded down.
