Nissan redesigned the Pathfinder last year transforming it from a rugged off-road SUV into a 7-passenger crossover. Prices range from $29k-$41k depending on the trim level. The model tested here is the SL 4x4 which has a base price of $36,850 before the technology and towing packages.

Under the hood is a dependable 3.5 liter V-6 engine that makes 260 horsepower and 240 lb-ft. of torque. The transmission is a very refined CVT and the fuel economy is 19 MPG in the city and 25 MPG on the highway.

With the latest Pathfinder design, Nissan has taken the tough 4x4 and created a minivan wrapped in a Crossover SUV body. That may sound like a bad thing until you know that Nissan has doubled Pathfinder sales.
