The Mazda CX-9 has been around since 2007 and has never undergone a complete redesign which is fine since this is still a very capable crossover SUV. Good news is that the CX-9 does have some new styling additions for the 2014 model year. One of the things we are most thankful for in the Mazda line-up is the new KODO design language. Gone is the happy smile face front end replaced by this new angry scowling face that reflects the fun to drive attitude of this crossover. Fuel economy checks in at 17 MPG in the city and 24 MPG on the highway.Inside you would expect a lot of utility since this is a large 7-passenger crossover SUV. The 3rd row of seats folds down and they are also easy to access. Every model is well-equipped but the Grand Touring tested here features all the bells and whistles. Overall the cabin is smartly laid out. You get a great view of the road.The 2014 Mazda CX-9 has something that sets it apart from the rest of the pack: great driving dynamics.
