Voters in India have been casting ballots in the second-to-last round of the 2019 seven-phase Lok Sabha general election. More than 100 million people across seven states were eligible to vote today, including in the capital Delhi. The election, the world's biggest exercise in democracy, is being seen as a referendum on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Hindu-nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) party, which is expected to win, but with a smaller majority or even just a plurality. The main opposition Indian National Congress (INC) party, led by Rahul Gandhi, has accused Modi of corruption and ignoring India's rural voters.
