eTorque is a brand new mild-hybrid technology that comes standard on the 3.6L Pentastar V-6 engine and if offered as a $1400 option on the 5.7L HEMI V-8 motor. Fuel economy is increased by 2 MPG on vehicles equipped with the eTorque system. Class leading aerodynamics and a significant drop in overall weight help with overall efficiency.

The eTorque system consists of a belt-drive motor generator that replaces the conventional alternator and a 48-volt battery pack which is mounted behind the seat. The system provides start-stop capability along with torque assist at lower RPMs. At launch the eTorque adds 90 lb-ft. of torque on the V-6 and 130 lb-ft. of torque on the V-8 engine.

While Ram has long chased Ford and Chevy in the half-ton truck race, the 2019 1500 closes the distance with the new eTorque system, exceptional ride, and world-class interiors.
