2019 Acura RDX A-Spec SH-AWD Test Drive Video Review

Since the RDX first went on sale back in 2006, Acura has sold over 375,000 models. That makes this model the most successful compact luxury crossover. Past RDX models are not as competitive with its German rivals in terms of styling and performance. New for the 2019 model year is the redesigned third generation RDX. Prices range from $37,300 for the Base trim up to $47,400 for the Advanced Package AWD trim.

The RDX incorporates fresh styling from the larger MDX sibling and the TLX sedan that includes a black diamond pentagon grille, LED Jewel Eye headlights, and 20-inch rims. Under the hood is a turbocharged 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 272 horsepower and 280 lb-ft. of torque. Fuel economy is 21 MPG in the city and 26 MPG on the highway. The interior is a perfect blend between sporty and luxury.

Dynamically the RDX has a tough task since it must compete with crossovers like the BMW X3. The steering is responsive with great feel. The power is generous. Once the turbo spools up the RDX is really fun.
