The ARSA is a militant Rohingya group active in refugee camps in Bangladesh. As DW reporters discovered, ARSA members have been threatening women and creating an atmosphere of terror in the camps, which are housing nearly a million Rohingya. ARSA is a group of Rohingya militants battling the army of Myanmar. They are fighting for a self-administered state for the Rohingya, a Muslim minority living in western Myanmar. In 2017, ARSA attacks on several border posts sparked a brutal crackdown by the Myanmar army, and hundreds of thousands of Rohingya were forced to flee into neighboring Bangladesh.
