The new Kia Soul EV presents a compelling package as long as you can live with the styling. The Soul EV goes to battle in an ever expanding electric car segment. The Soul EV has a couple of things going in its favor compared to the rest of the compact electric vehicle pack; most notably driving range and space. The navigation system features an 8-inch touch screen.
The 27 kWh battery provides and EPA rated 98 miles of range. The electric motor provides 109 horsepower and 210 lb-ft. of torque. Level 1 charging at 120 volts can take a whole day. But the level 2 charging at 220 volts takes only 4-5 hours. You can set the charging time to take advantage of lowered rates.
