"I am a student at Carleton College studying environmental science and am about to start my junior year.  I love to dance and play music (fiddle, guitar, esraj) and I love theater and painting.  During the first couple years of my life, I was raised in a very strict religious setting.  I was indoctrinated with ideas and beliefs that were not my own and was raised in what I today recognize as a cult.  My TEDx talk will be about healthy versus unhealthy communities, and sharing the unhealthy community experience I had during my childhood." - Anna Chance '15

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
