Katie Koza '16 is a violinist and fiddler who has enjoyed performing everywhere from the street corners of her native Madison, Wisconsin to the concert halls of Vienna, Austria. Her background is in classical music, but she also plays Cape Breton fiddle music, dabbles in a variety of world music styles including jazz and klezmer, and improvises to anything she can get her hands on. Her talk, entitled "There Will Be No Rehearsal," will address improvisation in music and in life--with some zesty musical interludes, of course!

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
