First, this English lesson will teach you how to use ‘used to’ to talk about past habits / situations that are no longer true now in the present.
Formula for how to use Used to: Subject + Used to + Base verb + Object.
For example: I used to drink lots of coffee. I used to like pop music.
In this lesson you will also learn English expressions that you can use with ‘used to’ in order to emphasize the contrast between the way things were in the past and the way they are now in the present. You will learn how to use ‘used to’ together with 'but' and expressions such as: Now, No longer, Not anymore. For example: I used to study French, but now I study Japanese. I used to play the saxophone, but I no longer have one. I used to wear platform shoes, but I don’t anymore.
Then you will learn how to use ‘use to’ in negative sentences to talk about habits that you have now in the present that you didn’t have in the past.
