The years of Brexit debate have led to unprecedented levels of polarization in British society, and to some extreme talk. A survey by academics recently found that a majority of voters on both sides of the debate think the risk of violence against members of parliament is "a price worth paying" to get their desired Brexit outcome. Lawmakers face everyday threats as a result of the Brexit debate.
