Venezuela's government has declared Germany's ambassador persona non grata, and is demanding he leave the country. Venezuela's foreign ministry accuses Daniel Kriener of interfering in the country's internal affairs, after he expressed support for self-proclaimed interim president Juan Guaido. Germany is among the countries backing Guaido's bid to oust President Nicolas Maduro.
