Millions of voters across Europe are going to the polls to elect representatives to the European Parliament, and populist parties are expected to make significant gains in this historic EU election. The leaders of the parties looking to disrupt the EU from the inside are Matteo Salvini, of Italy's League Party, Marine Le Pen, of France's National Rally, and Jörg Meuthen of Germany's AfD. Some of the biggest EU countries, including Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Poland are voting on the final day, with results expected in the evening. EU citizens across the bloc have been voting since Thursday with some 427 Million people eligible to cast their ballots. EU elections are notably low in voter turnout, which would be a boon to populist parties, but a high turnout of younger voters could throw a wrench in the populist hopes.
