On this episode of AMC Mail Bag (Saturday January 3rd 2015) we take the following viewer emails:
They recently revealed the cast for Suicide Squad which made the news for about two days and then everyone forgot about it again. Even though I loved Man of Steel, I would say I am less excited for Batman v Superman than Suicide Squad because I love the cast of the latter and I think the premise is something intriguing that no one in the genre has done before. Am I the only one who thinks Suicide Squad will be better than Batman v Superman? Which one are you personally more excited for and which one do you think will be better?
Richard Anderson writes: You are always saying that you don't think people need to read the books first to watch the movie, but wouldn't you make an exception for a book like the hobbit since the book has been out for so long and was actually required to be read in some school(I know it was in mine). I just think it would be kinda silly not to read it especially since its not a big book.
A Viewer writes: Greetings Amc movie news my question is this would you like if Jason Todd AKA Red hood was included in future Batman stand alone movies?? Thats is a character I would like to see on the screen thanks and keep up the great work.
Joseph Ludlow writes: Do you think that the x-wing fighter scene is actually on Naboo, these look quite visually similar. Why would the Star Wars creative team revisit Naboo.
Kyle Seridonio writes: Hi AMC Movie Talk crew, you are one of my favorite channels out there and hope you're around for a very long time! You guys often talk about comedic timing and I was just wondering what you mean by that. It may be extremely obvious to everyone but me, but I'd appreciate the explanation.
Terry Jackson writes: Hello AMC Movie People, Recently while at the theater I saw the trailer for "The Loft" and was completely sold on it. I was wondering what are your thoughts on the casting of the main group of men?
Riley Grandson writes: Hey guys! Love the show and never miss an episode. My question regards Miles Teller and his performance in Whiplash. I just saw this film today and was blown away by it. Teller is brilliant in this film and I'm wondering why he isn't even being considered as even a potential Oscar nominee for best actor. I know it's a very crowded race this year but it Just seems like he has been thrown under the rug. Am in the minority here? Keep up the fantastic work!
Noy Telinú writes: I personally groan when I see LIES in movies and general inaccuracies. If it's truly bad I won't even see a movie of if I'm watching it, just stop it since it bugs me that much. Which is why I didn't watch Lucy. Humans use all their brains! But now even more people will believe that stupid lie all because Morgan Freeman was in it! Will it kill the movie industry to be factual? At all?! But NoOOo. The narrative and hands tied and creative freedom and not supposed to teach people... Well I'm sick of it. And as such I can't really enjoy a lot of movies. Have you not see (or not want to but had to cuz job) a movie due to this?
