On this episode of AMC Mail Bag (Saturday October 25th 2014) we take the following viewer emails:
Joshua Levesque writes: Hello AMC Movie Talk, with Interstellar coming to theatres in about 3 weeks, what are your thoughts on space based movies being released during Oscar season? Personally, I loved Gravity and Interstellar looks awesome and could be one of Nolan's best films. Ever since Star Wars I love space movies, so with Oscar caliber movies like Gravity in 2013, Interstellar in 2014, and The Martian in 2015, do you like this relatively new trend? Thanks and keep up the great work!
Duncan writes: Hey AMC. I've been following your youtube broadcasts for a while now because I enjoy the unbiased coverage of movie news. Often on your show the question 'what film would you like to see a sequel to?' I happen to like Swordfish starring Hugh Jackman. There was some awesome action and it was left wide-open for a follow up. It didn't set any box office records admittedly but it was rated R in your American rating system. Any opinions?
SuperShanko writes: Hello, AMC, I've fan of the show for the past few months now because of all the good news I receive from here. Regarding the recent announcement of WB's upcoming movies, which are so far locked in place, what could be the outcome on the slightest chance that BvS under performs in the box office? Could this end up being a heavy hit for WB/DC with Suicide Squad coming out on the later end of the year along with the confirmed 2017 movies following soon after that? Thanks guys and keep up the good work.
Chris writes: With James Wan coming back to direct The Conjuring 2 are you more excited about the movie then before ?
Kenton Scott writes: Hey guys, love the show! I've been following you since the early days, and am pumped for phase 3. My question is in regards to the Oscars. Do you feel that an actor who continuously puts out Oscar caliber performances can eventually hurt his chances at winning? It just seems like whenever DiCaprio or Hanks are great, people just kind of expect it, and while they get noms, because they didn't perform even higher than expected and surprise us, like say Jaime Fox in Ray or McCoughney in DBC, they never win. Your thoughts?
Daniel Farrugia writes: Hi guys, I've been a loyal fan for years now and with an attention span like mine that's saying something. My question is about Xmen-Days of future past. The story line has Trask ( Peter Dinklage) trying to build sentinels from mystiques powers so that they can adapt to any mutants powers. Thing is mystique doesn't have the power to copy powers only to look like the individual. What are your thoughts on this.
#1 Yankee Fan writes: Hello sons of AMC!!! Love your show and i watch everyday! I always hear you guys bring up star wars, indiana jones, and the dark knight a lot but i never really hear you guys talk about Lord Of The Rings alot. Im just curious about your overall impression of in my opinion, the greatest trilogy of all time and where does it rank among your favorite movies? I would love too hear your opinions. Thanks and have a great day.
Jeremy writes: Love the show. I've been watching for about a year now and it just makes my day to see you guys get as excited about movies as I do. My question is have you heard any news about DC comics doing end credits like Marvel has done with their movies and if you think they should. I love how Marvel has given us the teasers at the end of the different movies and how they are tying everything together. I sure hope DC will do the same for their universe. Thanks and bring on some filthy!
