Sudan's military rulers and a civilian coalition have agreed in principle to establish a joint transitional council. But the makeup of the council is still undecided. Thousands of protesters calling for civilian rule are continuing their weeks-long demonstration in the capital Khartoum. After having forced President Omar al-Bashir and his successor Awad Ibn Auf to step down, the protests have taken on a festive atmosphere, as pressure mounts for de facto Head of State Abdel Fattah Burhan to bow to protesters demands.
