Pudu's Chinese Kopitiam Serves Mamak Style Food

This video shows that if you have a good idea the Chinese can make it even better ! Malaysians from all races know that mamak food is always a familiar scene in Indian-Muslim restaurants. For those who are not familiar, "mamak" describes the people as well as the type of food they prepare. In this case "mamak" refers to Indian Muslims who prepare Halal Muslim food of all varieties. Because Indians and Muslims share many similar spices and dishes it is common in Malaysia to see Indian Muslims as operators of mamak restaurants or food outlets.    
vgHowever, this Chinese kopitiam, with all the old-style Hainan bread and coffee, has mamak food as the main attraction. Yes, all those curry dishes, seafood and vege that you can find in an Indian-Muslim mamak restaurant are her and done perfectly in Chinese style. The lady proprietor behind this is Madam Tang. While Mr Tang is the man ( her husband ) serving the Hainan bread and coffee. Madam Tang is proud to say that even the Indian-Muslim mamak operators come over to "inspect" and hopefully learn her secret of success. But that's what Madam Tang did. She learned by observing how the Indian-Muslim mamak restaurants do theirs! Now she does it better !
Drop by this kopitiam in Pudu and taste the mamak dishes for yourself ! The difference will be obvious !
