In Turkey, what's been billed as the largest move in aviation history has taken place overnight in Istanbul. Planes and tons of equipment were shifted from the old Ataturk International Airport to one of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's megaprojects, the new Istanbul International Airport. The hub was originally scheduled to fully open last October, but construction was marred by delays and a workers' strike over poor conditions. Whether the airport turns out to be a prestige project or a giant boondoggle remains to be seen.
