In a phone call with German Chancellor Angela Merkel has told Turkey to immediately halt its offensive in Kurdish-held northern Syria. Merkel made the demand in a phone call with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. It comes on the heels of Germany's announcement that it would stop arms exports to Turkey, but Erdogan seems unmoved by efforts to stop his offensive. NATO member countries are meeting in Luxembourg to discuss the issue.
