Hey, welcome this new episode of 7-Second Riddles Horror Edition! This horror story was really hard to animate as it kept sending me shivers down my spine!!!! Let me know in the comments if you found this scary story interesting and whether your grandparents are as strange as this couple!

I always believed that spending summer vacation with my grandparents was the best thing in the universe… or at least I imagined this until I met mine.

I’m Mark and I’m 15. As a kid I daydreamed about what it would be like to have grandparents. No, mine are not dead, but I’ve never met them. My mom and dad got married when they were just 18; her parents were so mad, that they refused to attend the wedding. They then completely cut off communication with her, and my mom being stubborn herself dropped all her attempts to reconnect with them.

Years passed by and I grew up listening to wonderful stories about my grandpa’s farm in Texas. I wanted to see the wooden swings under the big tree that my great-grandfather had planted next to the barn. Mom said it was so dear to her dad, that he used to talk to the tree while he was working in the courtyard. I imagined how delicious my granny’s guava cake must be, since my mom always talked about it. When my younger sister Wendy grew up (she is 8), both of us started to beg our mom to go and see our grandparents, but she always refused.

Last Thanksgiving, my mom finally couldn't handle our begging any longer and called her parents. There was a lot of crying, smiling, and sweet talking. Once she hung up the phone, she told us that our grandparents invited us to visit them. So it was arranged: all of us were going to stay with them during the whole upcoming weekend. But my mom couldn't get out of work, so she bought tickets for just me and Wendy. We were so thrilled! Going on a plane by ourselves for the first time, meeting our grandparents, and visiting a new place felt like a big adventure.

Granny and grandad picked us at the airport. We ran toward them as soon as we saw them and embraced them joyfully. We got into their truck and chatted happily as grandad drove toward their farm. We arrived, and Wendy and I asked where that big tree with the swing was, but grandad said that he had cut it down. We were so disappointed, but said nothing. Granny took us to the room we would stay in and told us to change our clothes and to get ready for dinner. I asked if she could make guava cake the next day, but she said she hated guavas.

Grandad told us that everybody had to be in bed by 9:30 and when we said that that was too early, grandad’s face transformed and he said with an angry look on his face: “Good kids don’t ask questions.” Wendy and I got a little bit scared, which he noticed, so he smiled and said: “You can go to bed at ten, but do not leave your room.”

The following morning, we went downstairs to the kitchen and were shocked to see our grandma wearing an apron splattered with blood. Next to her lied a rabbit she was skinning. The look on her face was really strange: she was staring at the rabbit, without blinking, with a weird smile on her face. She finally moved her eyes from the rabbit to us and said: “Good morning, kids. Did you sleep well?” and her hand, with the knife covered in blood, pointed at us. I hurriedly told her good morning and grabbed Wendy’s hand to take her out to the courtyard. Once we were outside, Wendy started to cry saying that she wanted to go home. And even though I didn’t feel at ease, I assured her that killing animals for food was normal. But we did not have rabbit meat that day, nor any other day.

That night I was thirsty and went to the kitchen for water. After I had a glass of water, I got closer to the window to look at the moon and saw my grandparents....
