The young Iberian lynx kittens in the captive breeding program must learn to catch their own meals. Their mothers in the program teach them how, and the hope is that they're able to learn the skills to hunt on their own. Once they've figured it out, the project members find an area to release them. Wild Iberian lynx need wild rabbits to survive, and while the region used to be teeming with them, disease has led to the populations being erased. So the lynx captive breeding project has also had to install a rabbit breeding program, so the lynx have plenty of meals to chase.
