In Afghanistan, the Taliban have carried out two deadly suicide bomb attacks. At least 24 people were killed in the Parwan province when a bomb exploded near an election rally where President Ashraf Ghani was speaking. Ghani remained unhurt. A later blast in the capital Kabul left many injured and six dead. Presidential elections in Afghanistan are planned for the end of the month
