Taliban and US officials are meeting in Qatar to continue to negotiate peace in Afghanistan after more than 17 years of conflict. Many Afghans are worried about the role the fundamentalist group will play in their future. Meanwhile Afghanistan has been hit by new wave of violence in the last hours. At least 16 people have been killed in a militant attack in the eastern city of Jalalabad. The assault began early this morning with militants detonating suicide bombs before storming a construction company near the city's airport. Security forces rushed to the scene and exchanged fire with the attackers. All five of the assailants are now said to be dead.
