Sedans are still hugely popular and that means automakers need to stay competitive. Nissan’s approach has always been to emphasize the sportier side of its full-sized Maxima. Prices for the 2019 Nissan Maxima range from $33,950 for the base S model up to $41,440 for the top of the line Platinum model. The SR trim seen here starts at $39,530.

The biggest changes for the 2019 model year can be seen on the exterior of the Maxima. Upfront Nissan’s V-Motion grill takes center stage. The LED headlights have been updated. Gloss black wheels and trim emphasizes the floating rea roofline along with the notched rear c-pillar. All 2019 Maxima’s get new LED taillights and dual exhaust tips.

Under the hood is a 3.5 liter V-6 engine that makes 301 horsepower and 261 lb-ft. of torque. Power is routed to the front wheels through a CVT transmission. Fuel economy is 20 MPG in the city and 30 MPG on the highway.

Nissan touts the Maxima as its range topping full sized sedan but it’s actually closer in dimensions to a mid-size sedan.
