The 2019 Toyota 86 TRD is a very limited-edition model with only 1418 units being produced. The Toyota 96 has been around since 2012 as a Subaru BRZ or Scion FR-S and before it gets fully redesigned, Toyota is giving us a special edition TRD edition. Can the performance update overcome the lack of power? Pricing for the 2019 Toyota 86 TRD SE starts at $32,420.

You can’t have the TRD version of a vehicle without the exterior goodies. Upfront is an aggressive front fascia along with daytime running lights. This special edition TRD only comes in Raven Black but it does come with a TRD tricolor side-body graphic. Out back is a cool TRD exhaust and more TRD spoilers. Underneath some of the upgrades include Brembo brakes and SACHS performance dampers. The tires are Micheline Pilot Cup Sport which is a sticky sports car tire.

The engine is a flat 4-cylinder 2.0 liter that makes 205 horsepower. The transmission choices feature a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic. The inside of the Toyota 86 TRD is very driver focused. The seats are sporty and comfortable with enough bolstering to hold you in place. The tach is front in center in the gauge cluster.
