2017 Ford Focus RS Test Drive Video Review

For many years the world has enjoyed the hot hatchback segment. But American has really only had a handful over the last decade; most notably the Volkswagen Golf GTI, Mini Cooper, and Fiat 500 Abarth. Now the all-new Ford Focus RS is here to take on the best turbocharged 4-cylinder cars around. Pricing for the new 2017 Ford Focus RS starts at $36,120.

Under the hood lives a turbocharged 2.3 liter 4-clinder Ecoboost that makes 350 horsepower and 350 lb-ft. of torque. The transmission is a 6-speed manual. On the outside one glance is all it takes to realize this is no ordinary Focus. Up front there is an aggressive front bumper with lower splitter, the wheels are sized 19” and come with sticky Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. Out back there is a big rear spoiler and dual exhaust.

The whole idea of a hot hack is for the car to be fun and useful. The Focus RS has a drift mode which can overpower the rear wheels to get the car to step out into a drift type situation.
