Hong Kong's leader Carrie Lam has apologized for her handling of a controversial extradition bill, but has not offered to withdraw it. During her apology, Lam said she regretted failing to connect with young people. But the territory's controversial leader stopped short of resigning or withdrawing a bill that would allow for extraditions to China, as demonstrators are demanding. Lam did say she takes full responsibility, but protesters were unmoved. Umbrella Movement activist Joshua Wong, fresh out of prison, minced no words in responding to her apology.
