The Bible is a long and ancient book. Well, actually it's a series of books collected together by religious people of antiquity. On the surface, the authorship of the Bible is often pretty straightforward. Certain books credit a specific author — like Paul or Solomon — but authorship may not be as easy to establish as that. In many cases, tradition ties an authorial figure to a specific text, but the real writer may be totally unknown. In other cases, an original author's text may be lost to successive generations of editing and redacting, with additions and subtractions made by anonymous writers whose names are lost to time. All that said, we've reviewed the evidence and will try to answer the deceptively complicated question: "Who wrote the Bible?"
