The Bible isn't a single book, so much as it is an anthology of books, assembled in a canon through processes that took place over thousands of years. Furthermore, there isn't one Bible. The Protestants have their individual canon, as do the Catholics, the Orthodox church, and various other large factions and traditions. As such, there are many religious writings that exist in some Bibles but not others, as well as books that have been included at previous times, but which no longer exist in certain traditions any longer.
