A historic day for Britain as it counts the hours to the moment when lawmakers accept or reject Prime Minister Theresa May's deal for leaving the European Union. Most observers say they're likely to throw out the controversial deal, which has split the nation. In the House of Commons on Monday, May urged lawmakers to support her plan. But her plea was scorned by opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn. One of the main sticking points in Theresa May's Brexit deal is the border between Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic. The north is part of the United Kingdom and so will leave the European Union, while the Republic will remain a member. People living near the border fear that their daily lives will be seriously disrupted if barriers start to appear between the two states.
