What Is Safety: Marco Pellegrini at TEDxTitech

Marco was born in Milano as the second child of a caring family. His studies were not free of difficult times as he continued to search for "his own way". Marco's personal and professional life is a gradual but constant story of self-improvement, drawing inspiration from people surrounding him in everyday life. From old and new friends, family acquaintances, colleagues to the very accidental person sitting beside him on an airplane.

This is the dynamism he brings to his profession, believing that a profession is not just what you do as a job but rather the way you build your own life. Step by step he decided to shape his career towards the understanding of physics with applications to energy production and civil nuclear power safety. Recently he began working as principal analyst in Japan for the accident reconstruction of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant.

マルコは温かい家庭に恵まれ、第２子としてミラノに生まれた。研究で「彼自身の方法」を追求し続けることは、苦労が絶えなかった。彼の個人かつ専門家としての人生は、昔からの友達や新しい仲間、家族、知人、同僚、さらには偶然飛行機で隣になった人といった、日常生活で彼を取り囲む人々からインスピレーションを得ながら、少しずつではあるが確実に良い方向に進んでいったといえる。これは職業を、ただ仕事としてではなくむしろ自分自身の生活を築き上げるためのものとして扱う信念をもたらした。次第に彼のキャリアはエネルギー政策と市民の核エネルギーの安全性への応用を含めた物理の理解へと進んでいく。最近は福島第一原子力発電所の事故復興のために日本で主要な分析家として活躍する。

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
