Don't Follow The Normal Path, Make Your Own Path: David Liu at TEDxTitech

David was born in Hunan, Changsha, China, raised in Akita, Japan and went to high school in Canada. David studied Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Waterloo and went on to do a Masters in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. He has worked at 8 companies including Microsoft, Apple, Zazzle and Amec)

David has persued many paths in his life and has sometimes suceceeded and sometimes failed. Despite his sucesses David has also had his share of failures but he continues to try new things and go against the safe path. Even now having a safe, well-paying job at a multinational corporation David has decided to take a risk and start his own company. He argues that everyone should do their own startup and to not settle until you find a job that you can do with passion, meaning and purpose.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
