Benefit of Your Voice: Shingo Hashimoto at TEDxTitech

Shingo is an iconoclastic humanist, who loves to cultivate depth of humanity by reading books and poetry. Shingo is very inspired by a movie character, John Keating, Dead Poet Society (1989), and then enlightened to become like him.

Shingo has strong faith in humans, who, though, today are facing and shall continue to struggle with incessant challenges caused by themselves. Shingo says, "finding your own voice" is the key for living as an individual in such uncertain times. In other words, as Austrian psychiatrist, Victor E. Frankl, put in his book, every human is looking for his/her "will to meaning."

Now, Shingo demonstrates his personal story, and looks for good groove to resonate with the audience to create innovative, and jovial gathering in TEDxTitech!

型にとらわれないヒューマニストで、本や詩から人間性の深さを模索する。映画「いまを生きる」(1989)に登場する英語教師ジョン・キーティングに深く感銘を受け、彼のような革新的で影響力のある人間になることを志した。 現代になり直面する問題に絶え間なく格闘し続けなければならなくなった人類に対して希望を見出している。というのも、オーストリアの精神科医のヴィクトール・エミール・フランクルの、人間誰でも自分の「意味への意志」を求め続けている、という言及に共感し、「自分自身の声を探す」ことは将来へ見通しが利かない時代にこそ、一人の人間として重要なものであると考えているのである。
