NATO has scheduled an emergency meeting today as tensions grow between Turkey and the Russian-backed Syrian government. Ankara is vowing retaliation after Syrian forces killed at least 33 Turkish soldiers in an airstrike in northwestern Syria. It's calling for an international no-fly zone to protect the Idlib region's civilian population and has threatened to open its border with Europe, letting millions of Syrian refugees through. Further military action threatens to put Ankara on a collision course with Moscow.
