Kim Komenich received his MA in Journalism from the University of Missouri. He has worked for the San Francisco Chronicle and the San Francisco Examiner. He was a 1993-1994 John S. Knight Fellow at Stanford University, Dart Ochberg Fellow at Columbia University, and a teaching fellow for the U.C. Berkeley in 2006-2007. Komenich is currently assistant professor for new media at the School of Journalism and Mass Communications at San Jose State University.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
