Thalia Anagnos has served on the faculty at San Jose State University for 30 years and was the 2011-2012 SJSU Outstanding Professor. Her greatest love is earthquake engineering, but she has taught classes on many topics ranging from structural analysis to technical writing. Her current research focuses on identifying older concrete buildings that have the potential to collapse in future earthquakes. She is also helping to develop a museum exhibit on the engineering of the Golden Gate Bridge. Professor Anagnos holds a doctorate and a master's degree in civil engineering from Stanford University.
