Thousands of New Zealanders have attended a Muslim call to prayer in Christchurch, marking one week since a gunman killed 50 people in a terror attack on two mosques in the city.
The prayers were held at a park opposite the Al Noor mosque, which was a target of the shootings. It comes a day after the government announced a plan to ban semi-automatic and military-style weapons by next month. An Australian 28 year old has been charged with one murder following the Christchurch attack. Police have said further charges will follow.
