Here’s proof in a video that Malacca is unique in many ways beyond the historical landmarks. Take a walk off Jalan Bunga Raya into a back alley. Here you will encounter a world of a different kind. Stretching over 100 meters is an alley lined with low tables and short stools for customers of two stalls serving almost the same fare: sea shells of all kinds and more! Nothing fancy, but it sure draws the queue all nite long . It opens only in the evenings and one of the stall has been around for over 40 years. Both have been featured extensively by TV channels from Malaysia and Singapore. , and noticeably the crowd is young. The food? Cockles, “lala”, sea snails, “kangkong” with squids ,all served with a special sauce . You can have your shells half coked or fully cooked. Use your fingers to feel the real enjoyment. Drop by for an experience in local culinary delights!
