For Mexicans, the Day of the Dead is a holiday dedicated to prayer and remembrance for those who are no longer with us. At Mexico's border with the US, Roman Catholics from both countries gathered to remember migrants, be they from Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador or anywhere else, who lost their lives attempting to enter the US. Some of the festivities were held in heavily policed points of entry, like Tijuana and Juarez, and others took place in more desolate areas, where US President Donald Trump has promised to build a border wall.
