On this episode of AMC Mail Bag (Sunday February 1st 2015) we take the following view emails:
Tammy S writes: Hi guys. Love the show. My question is, can you ever see a Bond movie win best film at the Oscars? Or is the brand too well known? I love Casino Royale and Skyfall was amazing too ... But weren't even nominated. Your thoughts?
Jack Stoy writes: Hey guys, love the show and I never miss a single one. My question is regarding the box office gross of American Sniper. Discounting the $3 Million it made in limited release, since it's expansion it's made $197 Million in 10 days. Guardians of the Galaxy made around $176 in its first 10 days. The opening weekends of either film weren't that far apart and the drop off Sniper had was far smaller than Guardians. Do you think that American Sniper could beat Guardians and eventually The Hunger Games to be the highest grossing film of 2014 at the domestic box office?
Win Tana writes: Hi guy's love the show do u think mad max fury road will be box office hit? The movie had so much problems and it's going against Avengers Age of Ultron. So what do you think will it be hit or flops.
James Mckenzie Writes: Hey AMC Crew how's it going, my Question is about movie run time/ length. I hear a lot of ppl Complain about Movies being to long, I Personally don't mind as long as the movie is good & Entertaining. For Example, Batman v Superman, A movie we have been waiting for. it's possible it could end up being a 3 hour film. Why would anyone Complain about that if the Film is really good, Entertaining, the more the better right!
Victor Ramirez writes: Hey love the show and keep up the great work! I was just wondering why you haven't done any spoiler reviews for any of the Oscar nominated movies for best picture, it confuses me because these are known as the best movies of the year yet you guys don't cover them. I know you'll be doing an Oscar show covering the movies that won, just wanna see justice shown to the ones that didn't win. Thanks!
Elvin Rivera writes: Hey guys, long time viewer of the best damn movie related show in the galaxy of which a racoon and a tree are the watchful guardians of! We hear it said a lot, and for obvious reasons, that films have many secrets which have to be kept in order to keep the plot from spilling out into the public. I'm all for it, and I completely understand! But my question is this: What would happen to let's say, Chris Evans, or RDJ if he does a random Tweet or live stream on Youtube and just blurts out which Avengers dies in Age of Ultron? As impossible as that is! What power does Marvel and /or Disney have over these men that they would never fathom to do such a thing? Can they even tell their wives and kids? I imagine Paul Bethany's kids have some deep insider on the Vision!
Benny Martinez writes: Hello everyone! I was just wondering, now that trailers are every where online (ex. YouTube), do you feel it takes the magic of trailers away when you go see a movie at the theaters? For me, I feel like there's no magic of trailers anymore when you go see a movie at the theaters.
John Michael writes: Hey John, so I saw on Facebook that you said the Fant4stic trailer was good (apparently that's what the name is now). My question is, what made you like this trailer more than the Interstellar teaser (which you disliked)? Cause I see those trailers as more or less the same. Thanks!
