On this installment of AMC Mail Bag, John (AMC Movie News Editor-N-Chief) answers the following viewer email questions:
Dagim B writes: Dear AMC movie talk, you guys are awesome. My question is about two amazing directors. Who do you believe is the better director: Joss Whedon or Christopher Nolan? They are both directors of Marvel and DC's best movie (Avengers and Dark Knight respectively) In my opinion, I believe that Nolan is slightly better because of Momento, The Dark Knight Trilogy, and Inception. What do you guys think?
Christopher Spickler writes: My question is about Agent Phil Coulson. I am not sure if you have been watching the Marvels Agents of Shield or not but it has been hinted at in the show that Agent Coulson may not be the same guy we grew to love. From how he can never know about Tahiti to how he has trouble with muscle memory and it has been said that he is not as hard as he used to be. what do you guys think? Cyborg? I'm not sure. this is my guess for how it will play out. Fans of the show will not find out until the next Avengers movie where it will be reviled how he came back. that way movie fans did not have to watch the show to find out how he all the sudden is back and show fans get a good tie in? What do you guys think?
Andreas U writes: I just read the news that Kathleen Kennedy wanted to move the premier odf Star Wars 7 up to a later date due to the script still being worked on. It doesn't seem like Disney is caring enough to heed her request and is insisting on an opening in 2015. This makes me nervous. Should we trust that things will work out for a good first film to be released in 2015? Can we, as fans, request that the release be delayed until 2016, so that production can proceed with the right pace for a good film instead of a rushed production resulting in a bad film. I'm disappointed in Disney!
Michael LaGrange writes: Hey AMC love the show. Whenever i'm home i'm always hitting the refresh button waiting for more AMC Movie to be up. My question is about something I agree with John whole heartedly about. Dwayn Johnson is personally one of my favorite actors (yes im a wrestling fan) brings so much charisma to the big screen. While i don't think most if any of the movies altogether bring a Oscar worth performance do you think The Rock himself could ever be big enough to win say Best Actor or even supporting Actor?
D.K. Miller writes: I was just wondering what is your top 7 favorite animated movies of all time. I chose seven cause that's my favorite # and NO cheating Mr. John Campea.
James Bonifer writes: Hey guys love the show. There's been a lot of rumors going around Harrison Ford is demanding production to begin on Indy V, in order for him to return as Han Solo. I was wondering if Harrison Ford is just too old to be an action star or is there anyway this could work? One of the big problems with Crystal Skull in my opinion was how Indy was now in his 60s but still trying (and failing) to be as cool as his younger self. Perhaps if they channeled films like The Incredibles and Toy Story 3, making the film about Indy's post midlife crisis it could hit a cord with the aging fan base and become a charming classic? Or is it just too depressing seeing our childhood heroes age and does the character just require a recast?
