On this installment of AMC Mail Bag (Sunday July 6th 2014) we take the following viewer emails:
Brian Benjamin writes: What's good John ,I always end my day with amc movie news. awesome job on the show. Do you think the ufc will make a movie studio like WWE because of the rise of their superstar athletes like rhonda rousey, the iceman and GSP?
Alec Rappazzini writes: Hello my friends! I was just wondering when do you think we will get a trailer for the third Hobbit film, The Battle of the Five Armies? Here we are about 5 months out and we don't even have a teaser! I was one of those guys who poo-pooed The Desolation of Smaug because I wasn't a fan of the first Hobbit film. Then I saw Smaug and it became one of my top 10 films of 2013! I can't wait for Five Armies!
Filip Orvik writes: Since Tony makes Ultron, can you see Ultron killing Tony in avengers 2?
Andrew Cianciolo writes: I really enjoy your podcast, I listen to it everyday. I have a question about Christopher Nolan's upcoming film, INTERSTELLAR. I was on IMDB on I saw that Jessica Chastain was listed as the the character "Murph", and actresses Mackenzie Foy and Ellen Burstyn were listed as "young Murph" and "old Murph". I find this odd because in the trailer, we clearly see that "Murph" is McConaughey's daughter in the film. If IMDB is correct, do you guys think we will see time travel in INTERSTELLAR? Why else would we see the character "Murph" age in the film?
Sam Hockney writes: Hey guys, love the show. I was wondering what do you think the chances are of there being a sequel to 2008's Wanted, with James McAvoy and Angelina Jolie? I noticed it made money and got decent reviews, could it possibly be the stars not wanting to do it? Thanks and keep brining the filthy!
Diakeim Lyles writes: Love the show and all that you guys do, gone are the days when shows like Entertainment tonight and even E! use to report actual movie news now it's just gossip. It was such a pleasure when I discovered your show during the man of steel release and now I NEVER miss a show, the movie dedication you guys have is AWESOME! Now my question... With all the new Star Wars movies coming, how long do you think John Williams will be the composer and do you think he'll do all the films including spin off's. Who do you think would be a good replacement? Bring on the filthy!
Doc Ervin writes: Hello AMC crew. First, I love the show and have seen every episode on YouTube. My question concerns this years Oscar for editing. Since Gravity had several "long shots" of 6,8,10,12 and that awesome 17 minute opening scene, how in your opinion did it win for editing? If nearly half the movie is continuous shots how is that better editing than a movie with quick cuts? thanks for your insight into movie making and keep up the great work. My day wouldn't be the same without your show.
Michael LaGrange writes: Hello AMC love the show. I have been following since the Batman announcement at comic con last year. My question is I know Batman v Superman isn't coming out until 2016 but do you think there's a chance we'll get some kind of teaser clip at comic con this year? Maybe something simple like Bruce Wayne in the bat cave as Zod's message plays on the screens. Thanks and keep up the amazing work.
John Lutz writes: Hey AMC, I'm a big fan of your show - keep up all of your great work. My question is regarding John Krasinski as Captain America. As you probably know, he was almost cast and was one of Marvel's top choices. Do you think he would have been a good choice? And do you think he could still possibly be a superhero? Thanks.
Robb Underhill writes: Been watching for over a year now and thanks so much for helping to re-invigorate my love for the theatre experience. Question is, do you feel we're at an end to stand "alone" superhero movies? As much as I love seeing multiple heroes in one film and their interaction, I think Cap 1, Thor 1 (Hawkeye doesn't count) and Man of Steel are the end of that. I just fear we'll miss that "one 'man' against it all" is all but gone, or will be. Thanks again and bring on that filthy!
